New Balance

New Balance Athletic Shoes is based in Brighton near Boston, Massachusetts and was founded in 1906, under the name New Balance Arch Support Company by the British William J. Riley. William Riley's first product was a flexible arch support shoe, designed with three support points to provide greater balance and comfort in the shoe. It is said that he came up with the name New Balance by observing chickens, which with their three-legged feet have perfect balance, and then designed his soles according to these points.
