Burberry is a British clothing brand known for its distinctive pattern, but originally established by the then 21-year-old Thomas Burberry in 1856 with the principle that clothing should be designed to protect people from the British weather. A few years later, Thomas Burberry invented the fabric gabardine, which is a hard-wearing, waterproof and breathable material. The original Burberry Trench Coat was designed during the First World War. Burberry is an iconic brand, with a history where good quality, fashion and the environment are highly valued.
