FOREWORD
In celebration of our 30th anniversary, we have decided to put a special focus on our beloved local area. As a tribute to Fyn, we have created a ‘Team Adams Fyn Guide’, where our employees share their personal recommendations for the absolute best places to visit on the island.
While working on the guide, we quickly realized that there are so many wonderful places on Fyn that we love to visit, making it incredibly difficult to narrow them down. The guide is therefore a selection of 15 carefully curated places on Fyn that we keep returning to. We hope it will inspire you and help you explore our beautiful island.
DR. ADAMS
POGESTRÆDE 24-28, 5000 ODENSE C
Of course, we can’t create a guide without recommending our own multibrand fashion store and webshop, Dr. Adams, located in the heart of Odense. While Dr. Adams has both a women's and a men's department, we aim to inspire a unisex approach to fashion, where gender is not a limitation when choosing what to wear. Our philosophy is simple: Wear what makes you feel comfortable - gender should not define clothing choices. The store was founded in 1994 by Jacob and Stine Larsen, who still run it today from ‘the little black house’ in Pogestræde. In 2010, we launched our webshop, which shares the same stock as our physical store.
A personal approach is at the heart of our business. Every detail reflects our identity, from the carefully curated selection of timeless styles to the bolder, more colorful pieces that add an edge to any wardrobe. Our collection features both Danish and international brands, handpicked by the 'Team Adams Buying Team' during buying trips in Paris, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Milan and London.
Behind our store, you’ll find Dr. Adams' cozy courtyard, where we host events in collaboration with our suppliers or throw courtyard parties for special occasions. We’d love for you to stop by our store in Pogestræde - or visit our online universe at www.dr-adams.dk, where we ship worldwide.

CAFÉ SØLLE
NEDERGADE 18, 5000 ODENSE C
Café Sølle is our absolute favorite café, located in Odense’s historic old town. The neighborhood is home to Odense’s oldest houses, with charming facades and half-timbered buildings, creating a truly unique atmosphere. Nestled in Nedergade’s cobbled streets, Café Sølle offers shareable dishes, light-roast coffee, natural wines, and plenty of cold beers. Despite branding itself as a "humble little café," the quality is exceptional, and attention to detail is evident in everything they serve. Their coffee is brewed from Sølle’s own roast, and their dishes are made with local ingredients, including organic sourdough bread and pastries from Vild Hvede, a North Funen bakery with its own grain production and micro mill.
When visiting Café Sølle, we highly recommend taking a stroll through the old atmospheric quarter and stopping by Kramboden, a preserved 16th-century merchant’s house where you can buy everything from handcrafted pottery to traditional wooden kitchen tools.
Café Sølle is run by the passionate young couple Jonas Klindt and Xenia Søllingvraa Klindt, who recently expanded with Sølles Kiosk next door. This self-service shop offers carefully selected delicacies, including Sølle’s own coffee roast, locally milled flour, natural wine, and gourmet preserves. If you happen to visit Svendborg, don’t miss Niogtres, a café and bar owned by the same team alongside Philip Starkey - definitely worth a visit!

ODENSE HARBOR BATH
OLD HARBOUR QUAY 3, 5000 ODENSE
We love Odense Harbour Bath because it creates the perfect setting for social activities, where friends, family, and colleagues can gather and enjoy the waterfront. Designed by architect Andreas Isager, Odense Harbour Bath opened in 2016 and is shaped like an island in the harbor, resembling an elegant ship with decks and cabins. The structure features maritime elements, such as round portholes and an iconic red-and-white striped entrance building. Visitors can enjoy a refreshing swim, as well as facilities like a large sauna and changing rooms for men and women. In the summer, Odense Harbour Bath is buzzing with activity - people sunbathing, swimming, and enjoying the great weather. Even in the winter, it attracts winter bathers, who appreciate the cold water and the warm sauna. The bath is open year-round with free entry, and at least one lifeguard is always on duty, ensuring a safe experience for all visitors.
After a swim, we recommend stopping by Storms Pakhus, a nearby street food market, where you can enjoy a variety of food stalls, drinks, and occasional live music, flea markets, and other events.
If cold-water swimming isn’t for you, Klosterbakken swimming hall in central Odense is a great alternative. Open since 1938, the historic art deco building is a well-preserved landmark, known for its vintage neon sign.

CARLSEN'S QUARTERS
HUNDERUPVEJ 19, 5000 ODENSE
We recommend Carlsens Kvarter, which is our favorite pub in Odense. This traditional brown pub first opened in 1972 and has maintained its unique charm and atmosphere over the years. What truly sets Carlsens Kvarter apart from other places is its impressive selection of beer. With between 110 and 140 different varieties on the menu, there is something for every taste, from a sweet cherry beer to a strong barista chocolate beer.
In addition to its extensive beer selection, Carlsens Kvarter is also known for its cozy ambiance. It is a place where friends gather, stories are shared, and laughter flows freely. You don’t have to be a beer enthusiast to appreciate the atmosphere - it embraces everyone who walks through the door.
Another aspect that makes Carlsens Kvarter special is its dedication to preserving authentic pub culture. Even in a time of changing trends and modernization, Carlsens remains true to its roots and traditions. A quote from one of the owners, “Carlsens is always open. And Carlsens never dies,” highlights the enduring spirit and hospitality that have defined Carlsens Kvarter from the very beginning.
No matter when you step through the door at Carlsens Kvarter, you can always expect a warm welcome and a memorable experience

BOOGIE DANCE CAFÉ
NORREGADE 21, 5000 ODENSE
Boogie Dance Café, more commonly known as 'Boogies', is one of the oldest discos in the country and was founded in 1982. We recommend Boogies because it is a unique dance café where you can enjoy good music and dance the night away. It is the place that manages to unite generations and create memories for both young and old. Boogies is not just a disco - it is a cultural icon and part of the soul of Odense. It is a place full of history, where dark graffiti adorns the walls and creates an atmosphere of nostalgia and celebration. With its characteristic Tintin bar on the first floor, open two days a week, and a DJ with the stage name 'Lille Carl', who has been part of Boogie's soul for years, the place is a time capsule from the 80s that is still alive and well.
One of the iconic features of Boogies is Tequila Tuesday, where guests can enjoy tequila shots every Tuesday for just 10 kr. During the summer months, Boogies opens its doors to its cozy backyard, equipped with a bar, seating and atmospheric fairy lights. Here you can enjoy a cool beer or a drink under the open sky.
Regardless of age, you will feel welcome at Boogies, where there is room for everyone. Boogies' special charm comes precisely from this diverse and inclusive environment, where different people meet and party with each other. Boogies is open five days a week and is always well-attended by party-goers.

FOLDED JOINT KRO
ASSENSVEJ 513, 5642 MELLINGE
We highly recommend Falsled Kro, a 5-star hotel located in the scenic surroundings of South Funen. Here you are guaranteed to be pampered from head to toe. Falsled Kro's authentic restaurant, with views of both water and garden, offers a gastronomic experience beyond the ordinary, where Danish and French dishes are served with a focus on seasonal local ingredients.
Falsled Kro offers a variety of differently decorated rooms, where you can sense the history of Falsled Kro in every detail. In particular, the beautiful handmade tiles, exposed beams and timber framing reflect the respect for good craftsmanship and history. Many of these rooms have luxurious amenities such as a fireplace, bathtub and balcony, and some even have a beautiful view of the water.
Falsled Kro has a long history, and the old village inn is today internationally recognized for its exceptional gastronomy and hospitality. Falsled Kro has its own vegetable garden, which provides the setting for an authentic and sustainable dining experience.
Near Falsled Kro are two charming restaurants, Vandkanten and Vejkanten, both owned by Stine Mjaaland. Vejkanten, located on a bend in the road in Falsled, has a cozy atmosphere and is open all year round. The restaurant's relaxed concept means that all food is served on a platter. Vandkanten, located by the harbor, is a summer restaurant that offers a unique culinary experience, balancing the informality of a grill bar with the sophistication of a gourmet restaurant.

ARO
OSTERBRO 32, 5000 ODENSE
We highly recommend Restaurant Aro, owned by chefs Christoffer Schärfe, Bjørn Jacobsen and Michael Madsen, who have an impressive background from restaurants such as Geranium, D'Angleterre, Tetsuya in Sydney and WD-50 in New York. Located in an old car repair shop in Østerbro, Odense, Aro is much more than just a restaurant.
From the outside, the restaurant doesn't look like much, but once you step inside, you'll know you've come to the right place. Aro offers a unique and intimate atmosphere that is only enhanced by the incredibly delicious food that the restaurant serves. With a Michelin star from 2023, Aro is known for its gastronomic quality and its ability to create an unforgettable dining experience.
In collaboration with Anneksgården, the restaurant aims to be self-sufficient in meat and vegetables, reflecting their commitment to sustainability and local ingredients. If you are looking for a unique culinary experience where every detail is well thought out, then Aro is the ideal choice.
If you are looking for a further dining experience in Odense, you should also visit Sortebro Kro, which offers a gastronomic experience in a class of its own. The restaurant is idyllically located in Den Fynske Landsby and is housed in a charming, old half-timbered house that oozes history. Den Fynske Landsby offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience a Funen village from the 19th century. Here, visitors can explore historic buildings, meet characters dressed in costumes and learn about old Danish craft traditions.

BRANDTS CLOTHING FACTORY
AMPHIPLADSEN 7, 5000 ODENSE
Brandts Klædefabrik functions as a small town in the heart of Odense. It is a unique cultural and historical area with roots dating back to the 18th century. In the early 1980s, the old industrial buildings were, as the first place in Scandinavia, reused and transformed into a mixed town with culture, art, specialty shops, restaurants, businesses and homes. The entire area was once a clothing factory, and the characteristic, old-fashioned industrial architecture with the yellow bricks and green barred windows makes it stand out from the surroundings. A very special atmosphere characterizes Brandts Klædefabrik, where you also will find Kunstmuseum Brandts. Here, 250 years of art history are gathered, supplemented by modern and interactive exhibition experiences.
The sensory exhibition is one of the popular exhibitions, both among children and adults. Brandts Klædefabrik also houses the new Albert Contemporary art gallery. The gallery, founded by Jonathan Kvium, collaborates with international artists and presents a wide spectrum of artworks in different media and sizes.
Exhibition experiences are not the only thing you will find at Brandts Klædefabrik. The area is also home to the over 41-year-old cinema, Cafe Biografen, which enriches the already diverse cultural life. Here you can not only see the latest film releases, but also participate in the Odense Film Festival, which is an international and significant event in the cinema's annual calendar.

H.C. ANDERSEN'S HOUSE
HC ANDERSEN HAVEN 1, 5000 ODENSE
A guide to Funen would not be complete without mentioning Hans Christian Andersen. On Funen, especially in Odense, you can clearly feel Hans Christian Andersen's presence. We recommend the new H.C. Andersens Hus because it feels like stepping into a fairyland. The new H.C. Andersens Hus opened its doors in 2021 and welcomes visitors to an interactive and enchanting experience where you can delve into the author's life and works in a whole new way.
Designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the museum spans both indoor and outdoor spaces. Two-thirds of the museum is underground and is surrounded by a fairytale garden that in summer is filled with colorful flowers and small, unique green spaces.
As you journey through the museum, you will see how the architecture connects to the surrounding garden, creating a unique experience. With its children's section the museum is a special experience for children, where Hans Christian Andersen's stories are brought to life. Children also have the opportunity to dress up and immerse themselves in the world of fairy tales. After an exciting exploration of the museum, you can enjoy lunch, cake or coffee in the fairytale café – Café Deilig.
The new H.C. Andersens Hus is part of seven museums in 'Museum Odense' and is located in the old historic Hans Christian Andersen quarter. Here you can visit Hans Christian Andersen's childhood home and explore the cozy area, which is an experience in itself.

RECORD PUSHER
OVERGADE 12, 5000 ODENSE C
We recommend RecordPusher because the record store manages to create a unique community for music lovers in Odense. RecordPusher is a store that sells both new and used vinyl records, and with more than 14,000 different titles, including singles, EPs and LPs, there is always a wide selection to choose from, and the collection is expanding daily. RecordPusher is owned by Bo Ellegaard Pedersen and was founded in 2011 as an online business, and was at that time the first and only store in Denmark that exclusively sold vinyl records online.

VELODROME
FRUENS BØGE SKOV 4, 5250 ODENSE
We love Velodrom coffee shop because it is a hidden gem in Odense that takes you back in time. The coffee shop opened in 2015 and is tucked away in the idyllic area of Fruens Bøge. The coffee shop is located in an old and charming train station, which was built in 1876 and was designed by the architect H.A.W. Haugsted. Here you really get the feeling of stepping back in time when you step into the nostalgic atmosphere.
With its charming interior and welcoming owner, Kåre Loll, Velodrom offers a unique experience. TUESDAY-SUNDAY 10-18
RICE BREAD
HUNDERUPVEJ 24, 5000 ODENSE
We recommend Rises Brød, as we believe they make Denmark's best 'brunsviger'. Rises Brød is run by the couple Søren Hvidbjerg and Marie-Louise, also known as Rise, who with their 16 years of experience, stands behind four different locations around the city. The first Rise bakery opened in 2008 on Hunderupvej, which is also the one used by Team Adams. The Brunsviger is not just a cake - it is a hearty and important part of Funen culture and tradition. In fact, our light rail is even named after the cake, affectionately called 'Brunneren'.
For the people of Funen, the Brunsviger is almost sacred, and it even has its own law, known as the 'Brundloven'. According to this law, a genuine Brunsviger must be from Funen and may not be served with whipped cream, cake cream, cinnamon or raisins. The Brunsviger is so important that it has its own day, called 'Brunsvigerens dag', on October 11, where the people of Funen celebrate it by enjoying a delicious piece of Brunsviger. If you are a real Funen resident, you eat your Brunsviger on a bread roll, called 'Runner med Brunner'.
At Rises Brød they manage to bake the Brunsviger to perfection, and it is always worth an experience. The juicy and delicious combination of caramelized sugar and soft dough is a real pleasure for the taste buds. At Rises Brød you also get just the right amount of savoury on the cake, all in the perfect balance.

WILD WHEAT
SKOMOLLEVEJ 51, 5474 VEFLINGE
Vild Hvede is a small, charming oasis on North Funen, located in Veflinge, just a 25-minute drive from Odense. The place is run by Ingeborg Pauls, Emilie Berning and Bjarne Schaldemose and is known for its micro-mill, where they produce high-quality flour products, grown in harmony with nature.
In addition to offering freshly ground flour from their mill in the farm shop, they also sell other Funen specialties from small food producers. Their farm bakery, owned by Steffen Povelsen, tempts with sourdough bread and sweet pastries, where everything is baked with sourdough, local ingredients and fresh flour from the mill. When summer arrives, you can treat yourself to their delicious sourdough pizza, prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients.
Vild Hvede offers a number of activities on the farm, where visitors can, among other things, experience when the cows come out to pasture in April or sign up for baking courses. The farm covers 60 hectares of nature and agriculture, of which approximately 30 hectares are cultivated, and the rest consists of forest, meadow and lake. With fine trail systems that stretch throughout the area, you can take a lovely walk and enjoy nature and the farm's beautiful surroundings.
Vild Hvede uses regenerative farming methods to ensure that the soil is kept fertile by nature's own biological processes. With their principles of minimal tillage and respect for nature, they create a sustainable and healthy food production that benefits both the environment and the quality of their products.
