66°North is an Icelandic brand founded back in 1926 by Hans Kristjánsson, who wanted to make protective clothing for Icelandic fishermen and workers who were brave enough to face the North Atlantic elements. The name, 66°North, comes from the latitude line of the Arctic Circle where the company was founded in 1926 in Súgandafjörður.
